so I'm going on a plane to cali tomorrow and it's my first time in 11 years since I have been on one... I was wondering what the best tips are like should I get a window seat or aisle? and any other advice, like I'm not worried, it's more of the nerves hitting me like how is this going to turn out.
Travelling by plane is such a pain in the ass these days, ever since Sept. 11th. You can't have more than 3 oz of liquid in a container in your carry-on bag. You can't have nail clippers or razors either, so check all that stuff. It's so stupid; you HAVE to check at least one bag because of all the shit you can't bring on the plane, but they charge you to check bags now. So be ready to pay at least $15 for your checked bag, depending on the airline. I suggest bringing a HUGE purse, because that doesn't count as a carry-on and you can reduce the amount of stuff you have to check by putting more stuff in your purse. Also, make sure you're at the airport at least an hour before your plane leaves. Better make it two hours, just to be safe. All the BS you have to go through before getting to your gate is going to take a while, especially if you're leaving at a popular time.
The seat situation is a judgment call. If you're travelling alone, you have to decide what's worse, having to climb over someone you don't know to get to the bathroom, or not having anything to lean against if you want to sleep. If you're not the type to chat up people you don't know on a plane, bring an iPod or something as your "Do Not Disturb" sign. If you're not going to sleep and are travelling with someone you know, I suggest a window seat. You have to pay like $4 for the right headphones to watch the plane movie, which is so not worth it because the plane movie is usually stupid. So you're going to want something to look at, and believe me, that "Sky Mall" magazine is not that cool and won't hold your interest for 3 hours. It's more interesting to be able to look out the window. And, if you get tired, you can lean against it and go to sleep; those seats don't lean back very far, and unless you're a contortionist, it's hard to get comfortable when laying on your tray table.
Lastly, get a ride to the airport. Don't park your car there for the whole time you're gone. They're not responsible for break-ins and it will cost you a shitload. Hopefully this all helps, and doesn't make you not want to fly, haha.
If and when I fly i'm not taking anything but MONEY and a bag of clothes,
I'll show up in boxers and a tank-top with Flip flops
i buy the rest i need their and leave in the same manner.
sure won't be a pretty sight but i bet I'll get through quick.
I forgot that part; wear flip flops or some other easy-to-take-off shoes, so you don't have to spend extra time untying and retying your effing shoes when going through security.
lol thanks you guys for the tips... sorry it took forever to reply back...but i read these comments in time... the plane ride kinda sucked by a lot cause I experienced turbulance for the first time... after seeing final destination it makes you feel like your gonna fall out of the sky.... not so fun... but yeah security was not to bad other than them making me take out my lap top and cords. the whole3 oz of liquids thing is ridiculous! But I would rather to deal with that than having someone blow up the plane. and as for the window seat, I think its pretty neat... although i sat in the middle most of the time. but other than that everything went pretty well... i really appriciate the advice and comments for the plane rides...

I sat right in the middle last time i was on a plane. (3 years ago) It wasn't too bad, the flight was only an hour and a half and the two people next to me were cheerleaders for the University of South Florida :). I swear if i wouldnt have been an 8th grader i mighta had a shot lmao. The only bad part was that we were flyin through a storm. All in all i like flyin though. Its definitely a hell of a lot quicker than drivin.
